Staying at Danegelts was a wonderful experience on every level.
Edward was the kindest host imaginable, going above and beyond to make us feel comfortable: from cooking us an incredible dinner and breakfast; helping us with some vital bicycle servicing; and just generally being extremely friendly and thoughtful.
On top of that, everything about the accommodation itself was (and is) perfect: from the cosiness of the bedroom; the luxuriousness of the shower; to the comfort of the reception area.
Cannot recommend highly enough!

we have stayed in a lot of airbnbs over the years but we can honestly say this was the best. Edward and Aina were so welcoming, responding to queries very quickly. The house was amazing so tranquil and peaceful we felt right at home.
When we arrived Edward greeted us, there was a lovely slice of freshly baked Carrot cake.
The breakfasts were out of this world, the first morning we woke to the smell of baking, there was fresh rolls, bread and local butter, jam and honey followed by scrambled eggs and fresh coffee. Today as it was shrove Tuesday we had pancakes with syrup and blueberries, made with love from Aina.
It's so hard to put in to words. Thank you guys for making our stay so special, we will definitely will revisit, keep doing what your doing it's fantastic.

Had a wonderful stay here at Edward’s beautiful home. Possibly the most attentive host I’ve ever had, so grateful for the hospitality and had a lovely warm welcome. Felt home from home. As a guest, you are given not only a wonderful bedroom but also a private living space to relax, with ample books and refreshments. Just what is needed after a long day! Nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was super and I shall be rebooking. Perfect for solo travellers.

We had a truly lovely stay here in this wonderful old charming quaint and quirky cottage. The setting is peaceful, the whole place was spotless and comfortable, and everything felt thoughtfully put together. What really made the visit special were the hosts — they genuinely can’t do enough for you. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help without ever feeling intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at ease. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, relaxing getaway.

We have just experienced one of the best 3 nights stays we've ever had. Warmly welcomed by Edward who continued to be attentive and so helpful throughout our stay. A great breakfast plus the bonus of two freshly baked muffins by Aina every morning. The accommodation was superb, a comfy bed, very clean bathroom and 3 downstairs rooms to take advantage of. Danegelts is an historic property which has had sensitive modern adjustments to make it a beautiful and very comfortable place to stay.
Would definitely recommend.

Absolute gem of a place with the most amazing friendly hosts! So peaceful and relaxing with stunning scenery surrounding the house! The house itself is amazing, so comfortable and everything has been thought of to make your stay a good one. The breakfast was delicious, lovely home made bread, fruit and very tasty porridge. We opted to have dinner on the night we stayed and this was great value, delicious home cooked food. Will be recommending this Airbnb to my friends and would most definitely book again!

WOW.....words can not describe how amazing Edward, Aina and the house was. It was truly perfect. Have stayed in many places but this one tops them all. Breakfast was above and beyond, especially the homemade muffins and banana bread. Aina should be on master chef!! The house and it's history was amazing and no 👻. It was immaculate and the space was fantastic. We played the piano and read books, had hot chocolate and coffee. The surrounding area is fantastic for walking but Edward and Aina made the trip even better with their hospitality and friendliness .We do want to return here as this is the best place ever. We are extending our time here for another day as it is so amazing.

Really pleasant hosts amazing property. Great attention to detail & genuinely cared about your stay. Its very rare these days you stay at such a well organised decent establishment. Danegelts is in a tranquil location overlooking meadows. The hosts were very welcoming, the room was spotless and an enjoyable breakfast was served. It was ideal for our overnight stop and we hope to return sometime soon.

This is a lovely cosy house. You get your own part of a historic home, with your own entrance, just as they describe in their advert.
Edward and Aina are warm and welcoming and have helpful tips about the local area.
There's a footpath most of the way ( just about 15 meters of grass verge by Danegelts and then footpath) between the Airbnb and local pub. It's just a 7 minute walk.
The Wherry pub in the local village is friendly and does tasty food.
We found our 2 nights stay so relaxing pottering around the local area and going to a Christmas market in Bungay, a walk by the river ( definitely need wellies in wet weather) and seeing local sites.
The breakfast is lovely, Edward whipped up a tasty porridge with maple syrup, walnuts and bananas. And Aina made delicious muffins.
We only live an hour away in Norwich but this felt like a lovely relaxing get away without needing to plan any major travel! Highly recommend! :)

This is a wonderful destination - a lovely part of the country, a great village and a beautiful property with massive picturesque garden.
Edward and his wife made us feel really welcome, were responsive to my messages, very helpful and made the whole stay a wonderful , relaxing stay. I even had freshly baked chocolate chip muffins for my birthday :)
The pictures do not do it justice - it was even more beautiful in real life, a really interesting old property with beams and tiny windy staircases and great country vibes. It is in a brilliant spot for us as wildlife lovers - peaceful with views down to the river. We could walk down to the Waveney without leaving the garden!
I enjoyed a fabulous early swim at the Beccles Lido and we had a really good evening meal at The Wherry - a pub just a 7 minute easy walk from the house.
I would 100% recommend this to anyone, and look forward to rebooking for a spring visit.

We went for 2 nights and feel like it was not enough. Such a magic place with beautiful surrounding. Edward welcome us very friendly, gave us such a good instruction and recommendation. Edward place is such a cosy clean and with beautiful details place. Very pleased with such a yummy breakfast too. Thank you very much. Can't wait to come for longer next time.

Had such a great stay, was made to feel really welcome and a beautiful property. Service was above and beyond, fantastic breakfasts and upgraded to a meal 1 night too which was superb. I only wish i was staying for longer!

Traveling to Geldeston and staying at Edward and Aina’s house was an extraordinary experience for us. Edward and Aina were incredibly hospitable, and their beautiful, 500-year-old home was immaculate and well-organized. Every morning, they prepared delightful breakfasts for us, and on the first day, they introduced us to the neighborhood, guiding us on how to explore and enjoy the beauty around the river. They took care of everything we needed with dedication, ensuring that our trip was truly memorable. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend not missing the experience of living in Geldeston and staying with Edward and Aina.

We had a beautiful stay in Geldeston. Ed and Aina were very welcoming and attentive and went above and beyond. The house is very spacious yet cosy and even provided slippers and wellies! Geldeston is a beautiful area with plenty to explore. A dreamy Suffolk get away!

A perfect place to stay to reset. We spent the weekend exploring the local area with lovely walks by the river, and the village pubs provided us with delicious food and refreshments. The house is steeped in history and we were able to have a wonderful night's sleep in a comfy bed in such a tranquil setting. The hosts are fantastic. So welcoming and were available if needed. They were able to suggest walks/local activities and the best beaches to visit, which were only a short drive away. Thank you... We can not wait to come back..

The accommodation is pristine, very clean clutter free and very comfortable. Our hosts were super friendly and answered any of our questions and made us feel very comfortable. The view from the bedroom window is amazing...There is some lovely walks around close by and would be absolutely amazing in the summer. There is a nice local old-fashioned pub in close walking distance which is very friendly. I would most definitely return. Thank you both so much for your hospitality.

We enjoyed a truly lovely two-night stay here. From the moment we met the owners, their warmth and helpfulness made us feel instantly at home. The property was spotless, welcoming, and carried a wonderfully homely atmosphere. Breakfast each morning was a thoughtful extra that rounded off our visit perfectly — especially the delicious fresh home made muffins that Aina baked, which were an absolute treat! Danegelts proved to be a perfect place for us to stay overnight. It is in a great location, overlooking fields with the river in the distance. The hosts were incredibly attentive and friendly and served a fabulous breakfast. We plan to return sometime soon.
